Gomez began her acting career with the television show for children called Barney & Friends (2002-2004). As a teenager, she made her name known for her role as Alex Russo on the Disney Channel television show Wizards of Waverly Place (2007-2012). Gomez has also been featured in a variety of films that included Another Cinderella Story (2008) and Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie (2010). She also appeared in Ramona and Beezus (2010) as well as Spring Breakers (2012). She also voice actor on Mavis in Hotel Transylvania (2012-2022). She also executive produces and is a star in the HBO Max cooking series Selena + Chef (2020-2022) as well as the Hulu mystery comedy series Only Murders in the Building (2021-present). Gomez received praise from critics about the show, as well as nominations for the Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award as producer. Gomez was previously part of Selena Gomez & the Scene released three albums. They all made it to the top ten of the US Billboard 200. Revelacion the Spanish-language EP came out in 2021. The singer was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album. She has been awarded numerous accolades including the 2017 Billboard Woman of the year award. She also broke 15 Guinness World Records. Time magazine named her one the 100 most influential individuals around the world in 2020. She has a huge following on social media, and is the most followed actress and musician on Instagram.
